We are currently seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team.

Your Role at Batesville:

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise platform services that enable secure, scalable, and reliable business operations across the organization. This role serves as a technical leader within Platform Engineering, owning key platform capabilities spanning productivity, automation, collaboration, integration, security, and cloud infrastructure.

The Senior Platform Engineer applies deep expertise in Microsoft 365—including adjacent Microsoft applications, Azure cloud services, and API-driven integration patterns to design and support enterprise-grade solutions. Acting with a high degree of autonomy, this role partners closely with internal customers, security, and IT teams to ensure platform services are aligned with organizational standards, policies, and strategic objectives. The position plays a critical role in advancing platform reliability, operational maturity, and the adoption of modern, cloud-native capabilities across the enterprise.

  • The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead small to medium technology projects and lead project workstreams as required.
  • Support, upgrade and maintain (without guidance) technology systems and infrastructure using organization policies and procedures
  • Assess, design and implement technology systems and infrastructure to support organization objectives
  • Partner with internal customers and other members of IT to address system issues and improve system efficiency (without guidance)
  • Create, maintain and update system policies and procedural documentation
  • Train associates to utilize processes and applications while refining skillset to provide SME support of technology systems
  • Engage with vendors to maintain and manage system and infrastructure needs
  • Participate in the planning, development, and maintenance of the organization's application and technology roadmap.
  • Support the configuration, governance, and ongoing management of Microsoft Copilot capabilities as part of the broader M365 platform
  • Contribute to platform integrations and automation solutions utilizing Azure API Management and Azure Function Apps where applicable
  • Partner with internal customers, security, and IT teams to ensure platform services—are implemented in alignment with organizational standards and policies
  • Other duties as required

 What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft 365 application suite, including Microsoft Copilot.
  • Proficient knowledge of PowerShell and/or OS scripting languages.
  • Proficient knowledge of Public Cloud Infrastructure offerings (i.e. Azure).
  • Intermediate knowledge of API‑based integrations and cloud‑native architecture patterns.
  • Proficient troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with Azure API Management (APIM) platforms.
  • Experience developing or supporting Azure Function Apps.
  • Intermediate knowledge of DevOps and GitHub technologies.
  • Proficient understanding of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficient understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Proficient experience developing and supporting Microsoft Power Apps
  • Proficient understanding of Enterprise Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)
  • Advanced understanding of Server OS and Administration.
  • Advanced understanding of Project Management methodology.
  • Advanced understanding of the System Development Life Cycles.
  • Intermediate ability to learn new skills and apply them to an ever-changing technological environment.
