Position Summary

The Quality Engineer will champion action plans to address significant customer or plant quality issues.  They will lead strategic initiatives and lead quality and kaizen events targeting product and process improvements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement
  • Plan and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Reviews purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
  • Applies statistical process controls (SPC) methods and quality design and control tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE, etc.) for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and processes changes.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical program information and reports to team members and management.
  • Actively communicates with customers and peers at customer sites.
