The ideal candidate will be located in the Detroit, MI area.

Your Role at Batesville: 

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for serving our customers in the Southeastern/Central MI Territory. This position presents, supports, and sells products and services for Batesville to Funeral Home clients within the defined territory. What You’ll Do: 

  • Promotes and sells products and services within an assigned geographic area to prospective and existing customer accounts to achieve sales targets. 
  • Identifies customer needs using effective selling practices, exploratory information gathering, analytical skills and empathetic listening; Negotiates prices and delivery times within limits of authority; Resolves client issues as they arise directly and/or by coordinating with other functional areas of the organization. 
  • Actively maintains customer call planning system to effectively service accounts and build consultative relationships using strategic prioritization and organizational management; Maintains current files for each and all clients within the assigned territory noting key personnel, relevant sales documents, and appropriate notes of activities with the client. 
  • Effectively uses computer skills to analyze, update and implement organization sales plans and merchandising programs. 
  • Establishes and maintains productive communications with corporate office staff and field-based logistics and support personnel. 
  • Provides written and verbal reports to the Regional Sales Director on relevant performance and market information as directed. 
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. 
  • Leads collection efforts as needed.  
  • Participates in and attends client association meetings as appropriate and directed by the Regional Sales Director. 
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years field sales experience within related sales or training roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Dependable, honest, quick learner, excellent communication skills and team player.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs. 
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required.  
  • Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Experience utilizing CRM reporting. 
  • Comfortable presenting in group setting.
