Your Role at Batesville: 

As a Lean Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting the Quality and Continuous Improvement departments in designing, implementing, and sustaining Lean/CI initiatives across the plant and will serve as a change agent to help lead our Lean journey. The Lean Quality Engineer will require hands on involvement in the Company’s Lean implementation and will utilize their technical expertise and leadership skills to identify and implement significant Quality process improvements. This position is designed to develop high potential talent through our Lean manufacturing system.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify systemic improvement opportunities and Quality issues.
  • Assist in the strategic direction, training, and facilitation of Lean, Six Sigma, and Quality initiatives to achieve a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Value Stream Analysis, manufacturing process flow redesigns, and time and motion studies.
  • Support the activities of Kaizen teams, Maintenance support personnel, production personnel, and support staff in developing new approaches to problem solving.
  • Build relationships across all levels to understand ongoing operational issues and help lead improvement and sustainability efforts.
  • Perform business assessments and make operational recommendations to other functional areas.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college/university in engineering, operations, quality, or related field.
  • Zero to five years Quality or Lean/CI experience in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Haves: 

  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred, but not required.
  • Dependable, honest, and quick learner, good communication skills and a team player.
  • Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace.
