Your Role at Batesville:
As a Maintenance Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining the machines. You will plan, lay out, and perform a wide range of installation, maintenance, service, and repair work on a variety of complex mechanical and electrical equipment in all areas of the plant and office.

What You’ll Do:
- Work from job instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, specifications, plant layouts; manufacturer's installation of maintenance manuals and similar data.
- Provide effective service, maintenance and repair to complex machines, equipment and facilities including automatic screw machines, presses, casting and plating equipment, conveyers, ovens, welding apparatus, machines of various types for special purposes; plumbing, air and hydraulic apparatus, heating equipment; lighting and power circuits, electrical controls, transformers, switchboard, and control panels. Answer service or trouble calls; diagnose, trace and isolate cause of malfunction or improper operation. Tear down equipment, determine extent of trouble, repair or replace defective parts of mechanisms; reassemble and adjust for proper operation. Make sketches of repair parts of machining. Select and specify belts, pulleys, bearings, gears, and other parts required for repairs.
- Perform various welding, brazing, piping, wiring, carpentry, and other maintenance duties involved in buildings and grounds, plant, or other facilities.
- Maintain work areas and equipment used in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations. Make reports and maintain records as required.
- Work involves a wide range of difficult bench and hand operations requiring skill and a specific knowledge of several maintenance skills; a general knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and the construction and operation of various types of equipment and mechanisms in order to locate troubles and make repairs quickly to all types of equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime.
- Ability to follow Safety Standards and Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to pass prescreening exam with a score of 65% (Exam includes questions on basic electricity, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC).
Nice to Haves:
- Associate’s degree or Vocational certificate from an accredited program.
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Dependable, honest, and quick learner, good communication skills and a team player.
- Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace.
