Your Role at Batesville:

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with the Director, Continuous Improvement and the facility or functional leader to develop and execute a Kaizen roadmap. You will help to lead the overall continuous improvement efforts in developing and improving processes and procedures for a specified site or functional area. Training and coaching managers and associates will also be a key part of this role.

What You’ll Do:  

  • Partner with the Director, Continuous Improvement and the facility or functional leader to develop and execute a Kaizen roadmap and identify key metrics (KPIs and TTIs).
  • Lead the site/function’s continuous improvement transformation with a focus on improvements to safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Schedule, lead, and facilitate Kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects aligned with the Kaizen roadmap and Strategy Deployment.
  • Train and coach managers and employees in the daily use and implementation of continuous improvement principles.
  • Ensure consistent application of continuous improvement practices, tools and templates (ie: Standard Work, Job Instruction, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Road Mapping, SMED, TPM, etc.).
  • Audit, monitor and sustain the health of the continuous improvement culture by utilizing gap analysis, root cause analysis, and countermeasures.
  • Track the status of all continuous improvement activities, cost savings, training, and events.
  • Assist organization-wide Kaizen efforts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Business Management, or comparable field.
  • Minimum of 5 years related continuous improvement experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in continuous improvement.
  • Proficient knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5S, CI, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Standard Work, 3P, Poke Yoke, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and coach.
  • Strong leadership and change agent skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • Demonstrated expert continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent team facilitation skills.
  • Six Sigma experience or certification.
  • Continuous Improvement Certification.
