We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team within commuting distance of Batesville, Indiana. This position is primarily remote with occasional in-office requirements. 

Your Role at Batesville:

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties at a professional level supporting a remote workforce across the United States and Canada. This position carries out and assists with responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, labor relations, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance and must be flexible to meet to the needs of the operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Creates an environment of positive associate relations and open communication.
  • Develops and administers employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manages associate relation issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints or other associate concerns considering legal and compliance requirements to affect prompt and appropriate resolutions.
  • Innovates HR strategies to fuel our manufacturing magic.
  • Maintains associate paper and electronic records.
  • Conducts workplace investigations. 
  • Fosters an inclusive and high-performance work culture.
  • Assists in development, implementation as well as maintaining human resources policy and procedures.
  • May take an active role in labor negotiation process including research, preparation, and participation.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations; partners with managers to make improvements based upon constructive feedback.
  • Maintains associate’s confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Human Resources, industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Human Resources.
  • 1-3 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Knowledge of local and federal employment laws and HR best practices for the US and Canada
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex administrative processes, projects, with many initiatives taking place simultaneously in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for nurturing a positive workplace culture.
  • Motivated, goal/results oriented, adaptable, self-starter, and analytical.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to one time per month. 

Nice to Haves:

  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting a remote workgroup preferred.
  • Experience with ADP system is a huge plus.
