We are currently seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our team onsite in Aurora, IL.
Your Role at Batesville:
As a Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing overall warehouse operations, which includes a team of four warehouse associates, casket inventory management, and driver routing. This is a working supervisor position with at least 50% of the job responsibilities involving manual labor.

What You’ll Do:
- Work the Monday – Friday shift from 4am – 12:30pm. Rotating on call some weekends for phone calls, driver issues and client needs.
- Coordinate unload and load of route trucks including assisting with the physical aspect of the job
- Conduct quality assurance inspections on caskets, processing returns and communicate with production
- Occasional driver routing for the Chicago network using routing software.
- Indirect supervision and direct communication with company route drivers
- Inventory management, customer credits/backorders, simple casket repairs, general warehouse maintenance
- Lead, direct, develop and manage associates. Including being responsible for interviewing, hiring and training warehouse employees, and the continual upgrading of personnel and performance through developed training and regular performance reviews.
- Responsible for local operational performance in the following areas: cost, delivery, health and safety, cost of quality, work standards, procedures and policies, and customer satisfaction.
- Implement strategies to improve operations and inventory efficiencies at the CSC level (i.e. fill rates).
- Ensure that the CSC maintains and projects an image to the industry consistent with the company's expectations of professionalism, and truck and driver appearance.
- Assist with routine vehicle inspection and maintenance reporting files
- Directly supervises employees and will carry supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.

What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of two years related warehouse logistics leadership experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Logistics
- Basic leadership skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Customer service orientation
- Positive attitude and team player
- Attention to safety and detail
- Experience working directly with company commercial truck drivers
- Hands on experience in a warehouse environment
- Time management skills
- Multi-tasking skills in a face paced environment
- Verbal and written communication
Nice to Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university
- Understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA rules and regulations
- Experience working with inventory and order management software and/or driver routing software
